At least 50 people killed in train accident in India

At least 50 people were killed in a train accident in Amritsar of India’s Punjab province. There are fears that the casualties may increase. On Friday, local press reports said many people were in a crowd to watch the Ravana slaughter ceremony in the evening. At the time, the train ran over numerous people standing in line in the crowd. The train was coming from Jalandar to Amritsar. The Ravana Kushputtalikay was fired near a pair of Amritsar gate. At that time, people standing in the crowd at the sound of Crackers didn’t hear the whistle of the train.

 

Amritsar’s police commissioner SS Shreevastava said more than 50 people were killed. Rescue operations are underway. The injured have been taken to hospital. Eyewitnesses have known Indian Sanvadamadhya, adolescents killed in the accident. About 700 people attended the Durghatnasthale.┬áChief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh said, “I am going to the shonamatrai scene. Prosecutors have instructed all private hospitals to keep open. The family members of the victims will be paid five lakh rupees. The injured will be given free medical care.
